Yesterday Amer and I attended Android Developer Day Dallas at Cohibitat. Being my first event at Cohabitat, I was unsure of what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the people I met there. I was greeted at the sign in table where I traded my ticket for a badge, some android swag and a ticket for the drawings later during the day. This event was already looking very good.
The first session was an introduction where Don Archer, the organizer, went over the plan for the day and introduced the sponsors as well as his team from Verizon who would be responsible for presenting the day’s content. The event then split into two groups, a 101 group and the android ‘kung-fu’ group, for breakout sessions. The sessions were interesting and well put together. Lunch was good too.
These kind of events are great because they bring together so many like minded people. The levels of the people there were diverse but Don’s team did a good job of helping everyone out. People looked like they were enjoying themselves, which is awesome. I am definitely looking forward to more of this kind of event.
